In the grand tradition of movie novelizations, the following stories are prose novelizations of the scripts of various Daria episodes. In addition to almost all of the original dialogue, there are various changes and additions (many of them subtle, some of them significant) designed to enhance the original story. If you would like to experience classic Daria in a whole new way, give these novelizations a try. (Additional episodes will be added over time, eventually covering the entire series run of Daria.)

Season 1
#101 - Esteemsters Screenplay by Glenn Eichler Novelization by Martin J. Pollard When Daria begins attending classes at Lawndale High, she is identified as having low self-esteem and is put in a special class. There, she meets fellow misfit Jane Lane, and together they scheme to get out of the class.
#102 - The Invitation Screenplay by Anne D. Bernstein Novelization by Martin J. Pollard Daria helps Brittany in class, which gets her invited to Brittany's big party. Problem is, Quinn's invited, too, and she's worried that Daria will ruin her standing with the popular crowd.
#111 - Road Worrier Screenplay by Anne D. Bernstein Novelization by Brielle Potter Daria and Jane head to the Alternapalooza festival with Trent and Mystik Spiral bandmate Jesse. On the trip, Daria's day goes steadily downhill as every imaginable humiliation happens to her... and all in front of Trent.
#113 - The Misery Chick Screenplay by Glenn Eichler Novelization by Adam Spradlin Football hero Tommy Sherman returns to Lawndale High to be honored by the school, but when the obnoxious alumnus is killed in a tragic accident, it's "misery chick" Daria that others turn to for help in coping with his death.

#203 - Quinn the Brain Screenplay by Rachel Lipman Novelization by Martin J. Pollard When Quinn unexpectedly receives a high grade on an essay, everyone starts thinking of her as a "brain," much to Daria's chagrin.
#209 - Ill Screenplay by Peter Gaffney Novelization by Martin J. Pollard Daria comes down with a mysterious skin rash while attending a Mystik Sprial gig, and no one can find the cause... or a cure.
#212 - Pierce Me Screenplay by Neena Beber Novelization by Martin J. Pollard Trent asks Daria to help him pick out a birthday gift for Jane, but ends up talking Daria into getting her navel pierced, while Quinn convinces Helen to participate in a mother/daughter fashion show at school.
#213 - Write Where it Hurts Screenplay by Glenn Eichler Novelization by Martin J. Pollard Daria has to write a short story for English class, using people she knows as fictional characters. There's just one problem: she can't come up with anything.

Season 3
#301 - Through A Lens Darkly Screenplay by Glenn Eichler Novelization by Wilson Perez A near-disastrous driving lesson prompts Daria to get contact lenses. Her reluctance is soon forgotten in the face of the reaction she receives from others... and her own reaction when she finds she can't wear them anymore.
#308 - Lane Miserables Screenplay by Anne D. Bernstein Novelization by Martin J. Pollard It's madness and mayhem as all the prodigal Lanes return to the nest at once, forcing Jane and Trent to seek refuge with the Morgendorffers.
#311 - The Lawndale File Screenplay by Peter Elwell Novelization by Bacner Strange goings-on at school and at home kicks Daria's and Jane's paranoid levels sky high.

Season 4
#402 - Antisocial Climbers Screenplay by Jill Cargerman Novelization by Bacner An assignment-inspired camping trip in the woods turns into a disaster for Daria, Jane, and other Lawndale High students and teachers.
#413 - Dye! Dye! My Darling Screenplay by Glenn Eichler Novelization by Mike Yamiolkoski A request for help from Jane becomes a personal nightmare for Daria, who has to deal not only with Jane's jealousy and possessivness over Tom, but with her own confused feelings for him as well.

Season 5
#506 - Lucky Strike Screenplay by Peter Elwell Novelization by Marielle Scheid When Lawndale High's teachers go out on strike, Daria finds herself roped into becoming a substitute. The fact that she's teaching Quinn's English class could be a bad thing, or something very, very good.
#513 - Boxing Daria Screenplay by Glenn Eichler Novelization by Adam Spradlin Daria confronts powerful repressed childhood memories triggered by a refrigerator box... and the memories aren't good ones.

Sealed With a Kick Screenplay by Sam Johnson & Chris Marcil Novelization by CF Daria Morgendorffer, a cynical, brainy newcomer to Lawndale High School, exacts revenge on a football player who insults her. (This was the animatic pilot episode that never aired on MTV. It was included on the first Daria video as a bonus.)
Daria's Inferno Written by Peter Elwell Novelization by CF Daria falls asleep in Mr O'Neill's English class during a lesson on Dante's Inferno and dreams of her own hell: Lawndale! Based on the video game from Simon & Schuster Interactive.
